An AI-Integrated Emotional Wellness™ Perspective on Jacob Coxon’s Warning

Humanity Must Lead Artificial Intelligence

Creator & Principal Consultant, AI-Integrated Emotional Wellness™

On September 8, 2026, AI researcher Jacob Coxon resigned from Anthropic and warned that artificial intelligence companies are racing toward self-improving superintelligence without adequately understanding—or controlling—the potential consequences for humanity.

Whether or not you agree with Coxon’s predictions, his concerns raise a fundamental question:

As we race to make artificial intelligence more intelligent, are we doing enough to address its impact on humanity?

AI-Integrated Emotional Wellness™ (AIEW) refers to the ethical and responsible interface between the cognitive abilities of artificial intelligence and the depth, uniqueness, and complexity of human emotion.

From an AIEW perspective, the answer is not to resist technological advancement or fear artificial intelligence. It’s to ensure that, as AI advances, humanity advances with it. We must infuse AI with our stories—our thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences—the richness and complexity of being human.

The future of AI doesn’t belong to those who build and develop technology. Educators, healthcare professionals, business and organizational leaders, authors, artists, and journalists—people willing to share their authentic human experiences—must have a voice in shaping AI alongside engineers and computer scientists.

The challenge isn’t simply to build more intelligent machines. It’s to ensure that, as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly powerful, we preserve and advance what makes us human.

Humanity must lead technology.
